Mensuration- Maths Formulas Class 8

Here i am providing Class 8th consolidates all important formulas that required in class 8th. these formula sheet will help students to solve questions easily and more in efficient way. you can also check our Video tutorial based on class-8th Short Notes.

  • Perimeter :-The perimeter of plane figure is defined as the length of the boundary. It units is same as that of length i.e. m, cm, km.
  • Area:-The area of the plane figure is the surface enclosed by its boundary. It unit is square of length unit. i.e. m2 , km2.
  • Surface Area:- Surface area of a solid is the sum of the areas of its faces.
  • Lateral Surface Area:-The faces excluding the top and bottom) make the lateral surface area of the solid.

  • Volume:- Amount of space occupied by a three dimensional object (Solid figure) is called its volume.
  •  Rectangles:- Properties of a rectangle are:
    • The opposite sides of a rectangle are equal
    • Each angle of a rectangle is a right-angle.
    • The diagonals of a rectangle are equal.
    • The diagonals of a rectangle bisect each other.
    • Area= length x breadth
    • Perimeter = 2( length + breadth)
  • Square:- A quadrilateral, all of whose sides are equal and all of whose angles are right angles.Properties of square are:
    • All the sides of a square are equal.
    • Each of the angles measures 90°.
    • The diagonals of a square bisect each other at right angles.
    • The diagonals of a square are equal.
    • Area = side x side
    • Perimeter = 4 x side
  • Trapezium:- A quadrilateral which has one pair of opposite sides parallel is   called a trapezium.Area= ½ x ( sum of parallel sides) x (height).

  • Rhombus:- Rhombus is a parallelogram in which all sides are equal. Properties         of a rhombus:
    • All sides of a rhombus are equal
    • The opposite angles of a rhombus are equal
    • The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles.
    • Area = 1/2 x (diagonal 1) x(diagonal 2)
  • Area of circle = Ï€r2 , where r is radius of circle
  • Circumference of circle = 2Ï€r , where r is radius of circle
  • Radius (r) = d/2 , where d is diameter of circle.
  • 1 m3  = 1000 litre
